Award-winning photographs from the Picture Editors' Awards 2003 are to go on display at a London exhibition - as a curtain-raiser to a new book that will bring striking photographic work to a wider audience. Getty Images Gallery is hosting an exhibition of the work from Britain and Ireland's leading awards for photographic journalism.
The exhibition, which runs between June 7 and 21, will also showcase images from a forthcoming book, Momento, which features award-winning photography from Getty Images. This is the first time that winning entries from the Picture Editors' Awards, representing the cream of British and Irish news and magazine photography, have been on public display.
Getty Images chairman Mark Getty said: "This exhibition offers a striking demonstration of the sheer quality and diversity of images that have come from photojournalists in the UK and Ireland in the past 12 months. "Many of them have defined key moments from 2002, and have been seen not just here but around the world."
